Making Violin #6

Violin6Materials.jpg

It's time to start my next violin. I finished #5 just over a year ago, just barely in time for my father to see it before he died. Actually, it's not quite finished. It's "in the white", with no stain or varnish. I intend to leave it that way.

When I ordered the materials for #5, I ordered double, so I have everything I need to get started. I intend to use the same template as last time, a Stradivarius 1720. I suspect this one will take longer than any of the previous ones, since for the first time I have to do it all myself. My only guides are my shaky memory and the journal I wrote while making my third instrument.
